Dans Le Noir, a dining experience with a difference...

Not being able to see what’s around you can be very disturbing and humbling. I certainly found that losing one of my senses, in this case sight, had a dramatic effect on my experience.

So just consider this…

Handing your trust to a stranger, whom leads you in complete darkness to your table, shows you through touch where your food and refreshments are, again trusting that the food is not ‘bush tucker’, and then using your taste buds to tell you that the food is not only edible but also enjoyable is an experience in itself. I definitely struggled at first as for me, I believe you eat with your eyes firstly and then the textures and smells also play an important role in the enjoyment of my food. Along with this, we all know that who you eat with also adds to the magic and enjoyment.

So, I was humbled by my experience which made me consider the importance of my job in helping clients make better plans and how being their guide is an important role in helping clients achieve a successful journey.
