Investments do rise and do fall in value and we strongly advise that professional advice is taken before investing your money
These are very important, I cannot emphasis how important your goal is in being successful, the more real the goals are and their importance to your life the more likely you will strive to achieve them. It is said that as few as 5% of us have goals, if you want to succeed in building a good financial future, set a goal and build plan!
‘every battle is won, before it has been fought’, Sun Tzu. (think about it) It can be hard to think of goals, what is important they must be ‘your’ goals, take your time and establish what is the life that you would like to have and what events along the way you would like to have money for, children’s weddings, university fees, special holiday, retirement house in Tuscany, the list is endless, the important point is to have a goal or goals, don’t worry what someone else would say or do these are your goals not theirs, if you own the goal it starts to feel, ‘Yes I am going to achieve this’, if you set the bar to high or too low you can moderate it in time as you start to build. Once you have your goal(s) all lined up, write them down ‘stick them on the fridge’ this is your target, the purpose of sticking them on the fridge or another prominent place is so that you don’t forget them. The next part is how to get there. 26/6/2017 Why save money? Why save money, in the world that I live in (southeast England 2017) and I am a financial adviser in Ascot Berkshire, I would say that it buys freedom, it buys time with your loved ones.
We have all heard people say, ‘I live for today’, ‘I will never have enough money to do anything meaningful’, ‘I can’t make ends meet’, ‘I don’t care about money’, yes I hear you but these are the voices of failure. If you stand back and look at your peers, they are all going on holiday’s, having great lifestyles, as ‘featured’ on Facebook (sarcasm) and have fantastic brand new cars parked on the drive and they must all be on fantastic salaries, how do they do it, I don’t think I earn bad money you say? The reality, for the majority, they have very little assets to their name (it’s an illusion), they borrow money for everything (HP clothes/credit card debt), lease a car (that’s a loan), credit cards with outstanding balances suffering high interest rates, massive mortgages (unfortunately this is a necessary evil), overdrafts to survive to next pay day, hand outs from 'bank of mum & dad' I could go on, you would conclude the best job would be a money lender as everyone wants your product, but that’s a different conversation. It seems like the ‘system’ is built on our weakness to consume and get instant gratification by spending, just look around you, I believe that vast majority of people are destined to a life of work and never retiring. I believe that with a bit of thought and planning, you can enjoy life and build a better future, perhaps with even more special ‘moments’, than taking no action…. Think about it and if you want a better life, start by ‘building a path to a better future’. 23/6/2017 Life's momentsMoments
Life is about moments, without these what is life? To me memories are moments that I can treasure and no money can take them away…… from times when growing up with my parents and sister, remembering trips to the seaside, birthday parties, friendships and simple days out to the park or holidays. …. From the first time I saw my future wife, the day we got married, the children she brought in the world for us. ….. seeing my children grow up ….. going on holiday, playing in the pool, enjoying great food. These are some of the moments that are important to me….. ‘What are the moments that are important to you’, give it some thought and what are the memories that you would like for your future life? I am sure none of these memories are making you think, ‘I wish I spent more time at work’. I know I am right on that one! The problem with modern life, if only it could be summed up in one sentence, is that most people do not think ‘why’ they are doing what they are doing, they are on the ‘treadmill of life’. What’s all this got to do with 'moments', well I would say its about how money has a role in creating these precious moments and as you will see above not all the above costs money, but I am pretty confident that money has a part to play in each of them. Simply, money plays a part in creating our ‘life’s moments’, money to a large degree gives us freedom to enjoy life. How we each want to enjoy life it is up to us individually, what I want to do is help people improve their lives! We cannot roll back time and for the vast majority of people they will not change, as they will continue doing the same old routine and I wish them luck. I am appealing to similar like minded individuals/ couples who want to improve their financial futures. My role as a financial advisor in Ascot, is quite simple, I help people save money, make their money work harder and help them plan for their future, nothing revolutionary, but very important to our clients. We as a business, typically look after people who want to make more from their money and make better investment decisions as they are typically working very hard at work, bringing up their families or running their own businesses. So, the question is to you, what ‘moments do you want to make’ and how important are they to you? Think hard and then take action, that’s the hard bit, ‘taking action’ then start your journey to a better financial life. Well done in taking the first step |
